As cliche as it may sound I’ve been active for as long as I can remember.  I spent a good chunk of my childhood on a basketball court and continued that through high school along with dance from high school through college. I didn’t start taking the nutrition aspect of fitness seriously until I was an adult. I’ve always been skinny, I’m an ectomorph by definition, so I never had to worry about becoming overweight because I couldn’t gain weight to save my life. I ate whatever I wanted and nothing ever changed. When I got older my grandfather started being more honest with me about his and my father’s health conditions and knowing that you can be genetically linked to some illnesses I decided to make a change, not only for myself but for my future children. Genetics told me I was predisposed to diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, kidney issues, a few types of cancer and numerous other illnesses.  Most of which can be prevented or eliminated from a proper diet alone! Being Louisiana born most of our diet consists of something fried, smothered in gravy and almost always come with a side sweet cornbread.

In 2011 I started lifting weights with my then boyfriend (now husband) who also grew up a basketball playing ectomorph. He was able to put on over 50 lbs of lean muscle and build the body he wanted and I figured if he could do it, so could I. I was tired of being so skinny, I wanted curves and the only way to get the ones I wanted (well, most of them) was to build them. I had NEVER lifted weights, my workouts always consisted of conditioning styled workouts In 2012 I started working at My Fit Foods and learned first hand about portion control, good carbs vs bad carbs, meal prepping and proper nutrition. I got my certification as a personal trainer and started teaching people what I knew through nutrition presentations as a Brand Ambassador, Instagram, and my online clients. I learned how to eat to live. I also worked at Fit Life foods in Florida in 2017. I still eat red beans & rice with sweet cornbread, but I know how to season with minimal salt and don’t eat 4 pieces of cornbread with my meal! 😉

I found Massy’s Instagram during the early stages of my weight lifting, I liked the fact that we had a lot of similarities. We both had a history of depression, we were super skinny and wanted to do something about it. Most fitness accounts I came across were the typical “cardio bunny” who just wanted to be thin. I finally got to meet her and Stefan in April 2014 and I saw them again later that summer in June at a boot camp they hosted. The energy in that building was indescribable.

I started working for MANKOFIT Inc in 2015 and along with the job came the MA30DAY programs. I had never followed anyone else’s plans because most of the ones I found were either geared towards weight loss or bodybuilding. The community of Warriors is probably the most supportive group I’ve ever been a part of. I met so many of them at the Iron Addicts gym opening in Miami and it was amazing being around so many like-minded women! The programs are amazing and I love that it can be repeated month after month with no adverse health effects. My favorites so far have been the Muscle Building and the most recent Coconut program.

Fitness has truly changed my life. I’ve gained 15-20 good pounds (on purpose) and confidence I never thought I would have. I’m still thin but actually, have some curves now! I am so much more secure in myself and what I’m capable of.  If I can help others achieve the same then I’ve done my job. Iy you’re looking for a hype-woman who will tell you that you’re dope and also give you the kick in the tail you need I’m your girl. I want to help lift your confidence and booty!
