Over the last several years, personal fitness and healthy living is an interest I picked up that I highly enjoy. As a young child, my physical activity was highly limited due to my Asthma. As a teenager, I was not overweight per se, but not necessarily healthy. Growing up in a typical Hispanic household, my food intake consisted of lots of carbs and meats. Looking at my family’s health history, I wanted to do what I could to avoid or prevent any illnesses and to allow me to possibly live longer.

In the last 5-6 years, I decided to take a leap into the world of health and fitness. I decided to begin my journey of making a better me. I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits for the better. In the beginning, it all started as a task, but it has now become apart of my life and something that I enjoy doing. I am more conscious on what I eat and don’t eat and have implemented exercise into my routine. I try to exercise anywhere from three to four days a week as a minimum. I buy what I can organic/non-GMO and keep track of meals. Of course, I reward myself from time to time and do indulge. I like to keep my workouts interesting by switching them up from indoors to outdoors. I enjoy anything from running to weight training to high intensity interval training. I feel more energized, full of life, and my endurance has strengthened. Doing this amazing change has made my life much better.

Investing in myself has been one of the best decisions I have made and I have no regrets. During my journey, I’ve realized that I’ve been able to share my love of health and fitness with others. I’ve always been a people person and truly enjoy being able to share my experiences, especially if it will help motivate or inspire someone else who may be just starting out. I have gained new friends and connected with people with the same focus, had my struggles, challenges and obstacles, but I must say I wouldn’t have it any other way. These all have given me the knowledge and have been the drive for what I call now, one of my passions.

transformation

Inevitably at some point, we all fall off the wagon. I had fallen off track with my workouts and slowly had gotten myself back into the swing of things. I was looking for a boost, something that would kick-start my year on the right foot, get me back on track. I had been following Massy since her “Mankofit” days and she truly was an inspiration on all levels. Just with her posts alone, she motivated and guided me from afar. Once I found out about her program, I couldn’t give up the opportunity to give it a try.

Being a Warrior is one of best things I’ve decided to do in my life. Never would I have thought that I would gain so much more than just workouts and meal plans.  As a Warrior, you push, you fight and strive for a better you! You let no one or nothing get in your way because you have your eyes on the prize. You learn to enjoy every minute of your journey, the good and the bad.  You learn to embrace and appreciate your body for what it is and for what it can be. Being a Warrior is so important to me because it’s more than a just a “program.” By taking the initial step, you join a community, a support group, a team, and a sisterhood.  You take on a pledge to not only be your number one fan, but to be others too. It’s a beautiful thing.
