My Story

My name is Danielle, and I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. I am a proud woman of Puerto Rican and African American decent. My mom instilled me with confidence and strength to live life with vigor. Nevertheless I have always been self conscious of my figure and constantly wondered why I was curvier than my Mom and bigger than most in my family? This was the beginning of a continuous cycle of allowing food to take over my life, comparing myself to other women, then resorting to unhealthy habits in order to reach my fitness goals. I was fighting a losing battle. I was an emotional eater in denial. My weight would fluctuate with the event, seasons and stressors in my life. “My people perish for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6 and I lacked knowledge as it pertained to fitness and nutrition. Misguided quick-fixes and tips led me to believe the less food I consumed/fed my body was the quickest way to see results. This fallacy has caused my fitness journey to be long and grueling. With nothing but habitual injuries and malnutrition. Basically I would rely on certain events and occasions to motivate me to diet instead of changing my way of thinking towards food and creating a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Why an MA Warrior?

On December 5, 2017 I became an MAWarrior! I truly believed I needed change. I needed to rely on myself to be motivated and not on an event or occasion. I have followed Massy for a few years and was immediately inspired by her approach to fitness; the way she promotes healthy eating and loving yourself empowered me. The December 2017 Winter MA30DAY program has literally changed my life! I am eating six times a day, successfully avoiding cheat snacks/meals and have become consistent with this program. I have finally chosen to put me first and put my all in this program. This program has proven major results since I started and I cant wait to see what my 90 Day commitment will transform my body into.
