Taking care of naturally curly, kinky hair can be simple and as easy as any other hair type. However, at times, your kinks and curls may need a bit of extra love and care to maintain their beauty and health. One of the more effective treatments to tame dry, damaged curls is an intensely moisturizing hair Masque. A hair Masque is a step above a deep conditioner and can replenish the moisture and touchable softness back to your curls and kinks. Since hairs Masque treatments are all about moisture, it is best to take a few steps to make sure your hair is balanced and strong.

Step 1. Shampoo

To start out your pampering hair process, wash your hair with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. Concentrate on your scalp, massaging the shampoo into your scalp to lift the dirt and grim that has settled there.

Step 2. Condition

Once you’ve washed out the shampoo, lather a generous amount of Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Conditioner. While the conditioner is working it’s magic, take that time to detangle your curls with your fingers or a wide toothed comb or brush. After about 5 minutes, rinse out the conditioner.

Step 3. Hair Masque

Apply the moisture boosting Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Hair Masque. Coat every strand of hair with the hair Masque, tie up in manageable sections, and cover with a plastic shower cap. Let the treatment penetrate into your curls for about an hour. Your natural body heat will open up the shaft of your strands to allow the Masque to deeply condition and moisturize.

Step 4. Moisturize

Once you’ve let the hair Masque penetrate into your curls, rinse your hair with warm water and pat dry with a microfiber towel. To replenish the shine and nutrients your hair needs, follow up with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Damage Repair Hair and Scalp Serum. Gently massage the oil into your scalp, along your hairline, as well as on your curls.

Final step. Style

Style your hair as you normally would. Enjoy the bounce and shine of your kinky curls. Treat your hair with a moisture boosting Masque once a month or whenever your hair feels dry and brittle.
